Like Stars Across The Sky...
Dewei!! 你讲话真的很灵 is it?? Hahax read on & you'll know why!
I have to admit, I was trudging to school today literally. Auditions for " The Naughty Lady Of Shady Lane" only ended at 5.30pm on Wednesday, so I was dead beat this morning. (Psst...I was so close to being late, you could hear some outrageous outburst from miles away!)
I mean, it's all worth it! The response on Wednesday was great. So many people turned up for both sides of the audition. There were a few with potential, but I've yet to find one with skill. Until today.
Not just one. But five, or even six for that matter!!!
*Coughs* No names here, so I will just label them by numbers until I can confirm who's in and who's not.
*1*, because she came in first. Now, I think that when you walk into an audition room, you need three things: Confidence, skill and that fervour for drama. I dare say *1* has them. We got her to sing a jazz tune, even though she used to be in a rock band! And it turned out really well! Then came the acting part. Normally, you don't expect a person to bring out every emotion and twist and turn so quickly between different moods on the first try. Yvette and I merely asked her to read the script out loud in order to get a feel of the character, but I'm really impressed with the intonations and expressions! We didn't even need her to do it a second time! My vote's on *1*, but still, the directors would have to decide after another round when the J1s come in. *1* mentioned to me that she wanted to do theatre, and that her friends laughed at the fact that she didn't mind "sing and dance". Still, I'm considering getting *1* to join Sketch Nite and give her a chance to prove herself in front of everyone, not just me and Yvette.
*2* and *3* were poached from Andrea's side. We got them to sing, and they sang the song "Angels". I tell you, good melody and good chemistry between the 2 of them, not to mention that they could do the lines with ease. We signed them up immediately, and told them that they needn't come for rehearsals. They just have to sing in front of us with those few lines on perhaps 2 occassions, and that's it.
*4*, *5* and *6* are TSD people who helped us out duringTeachers' Day last year. I think there was not much need to audition them anyway, since they are already very dramatic enough. But one thing's for sure, their antics were definitely very impressive. I literally laughed my guts out beacuase they were so much more expressive than the rest of the students I have been auditioning in the past days. What's more, they even told me a very lame joke at the end of the day, coupled with silly actions that made it a whole lot more hilarious! Hahax :)
For now, I suppose they will be on the set, unless some J1 who comes into VJC is able to outshine them.
I'm so very happy (even though exhausted)!!!!
It's like a meteor shower, like stars across the sky, falling down on me...One by one.
